The Division of Neurological SurgeryThe Division of Neurological Surgery of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine provides surgical and non-surgical care to patients suffering from illnesses, injuries and diseases affecting the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves, including the coverings and blood vessel supply of these neural structures. These disease processes may affect adults as well as children and include trauma, tumors, congenital malformations, spinal degenerative conditions, vascular abnormalities, movement disorders, pain and infections. Care is provided in a supportive environment with access to the latest technology. Team members include attending physicians, specialized neurosurgical nurses and resident physicians in the Division's Neurological Surgery Resident Training Program. Over the years, the Division of Neurological Surgery has adapted to the changing scene of health care in Missouri and the United States. In concert with the mission of the MU School of Medicine, the Division's faculty and staff strive to provide education and health care to residents of the state of Missouri and beyond, particularly to those of "rural and underserved communities." These programs are augmented by research endeavors in collaboration with other members of the University of Missouri community. Radiosurgery Program |
