Burn Care

Our Program

The Burn Care Fellowship Program at the University of Missouri-Columbia is a five-year program, with one resident accepted each year. One year of general surgery is required before beginning the residency. When you are accepted in our program, a one year general surgery internship is guaranteed. Residents are selected through the San Francisco matching program.

The program is dedicated to developing strong clinical decision making, surgical, and research skills. In addition, the resident will develop administrative and teaching skills for an academic setting and practice management skills for a private setting.

Emphasis is placed on developing a close working relationship between the residents and faculty. The program is resident oriented with the resident receiving increasing responsibility during training. During the chief resident year the resident coordinates the clinical service at University Hospital.

How to Apply

Residents are selected through the San Francisco matching program.

Review of San Francisco match applications will begin yearly in September. Your application must be complete to be considered for an interview. Interviews are held from October and November and are granted by invitation only.
