Department of Operational Medical Support

The University of Missouri’s Department of Operational Medical Support (UM-DOMS) provides medical directorship, support, and training for the Missouri State Police, the Columbia Police Department, and the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, as well as the state, county and city SWAT teams. The UM-DOMS is a proud supporter of the TIGERMED Team (Tactical Integrated Emergency Response Team) that provides training, medical oversight, and support for rural Missouri SWAT teams.

Operation Medical Support also provides contracted courses, mini-fellowships, and medical services to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, in addition to National Guard units and US Military Forces. All services and courses can be customized to meet your agency’s needs. Services and courses include:

  • Disaster Surgical Response
  • Disaster Medicine
  • Trauma Surgery
  • Acute Care Surgery
  • Surgical Critical Care
  • Burn Surgery
  • Minimal Invasive Surgery
  • OB/GYN

Courses and mini-fellowships are provided to physicians, medics, physician’s assistants, nurses, and other medical personnel. These courses and mini-fellowships are taught in the surgical skill cadaver lab, the simulations lab, the live tissue lab, and also in the field.
