Assistant Professor – Cardiothoracic Surgery (OARS File#: 090181)

Description

The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking outstanding candidates for the position of Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Appointment status (Tenure-track or Clinic-track) are negotiable. The four-member division has patient care responsibilities at the University Hospitals, Ellis Fischel Cancer Hospital, and Harry S Truman VA Hospital.

The successful candidate should be recognized in his/her area of clinical practice in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Completion of a fellowship is required. The candidate should be eligible to sit for the examinations of the American Board of Cardiothoracic Surgery or be board certified and have exceptional interests in teaching and research. Significant experience with VATS is preferred and experience in endovascular thoracic repairs would be highly desired. The qualified candidate should be proficient with all aspects of thoracic disease including esophageal repair and/or replacement and have experience with minimally invasive esophageal techniques. The candidate will be expected to also assist with open cardiac and thoracic vascular cases.
