Department of Surgery Chief of General Surgery (OARS File#: 090180)Description The Division of General Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Missouri is seeking outstanding candidates for the position of Chief of General Surgery. Currently, the Division boasts nine faculty members, all board-certified in general surgery. All have patient care responsibilities at the University Hospital & Clinics, a newly renovated Women’s & Children’s Hospital, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, and Harry S Truman Memorial VA Hospital. This robust practice specializes in a range of procedures including minimally invasive, bariatrics, hernia, and gastro-intestinal surgeries. Successful candidates should be board-certified and recognized as exemplary in the field of General Surgery, with strong interest in teaching and funded research. Additional significant attributes important to this position include: proven leadership qualities, exceptional surgical technique, and ability and interest in resident/student education.
